Five keys to dominating your niche

The City of Townsville is Under Attack by Mojo Jojo

True Story.

I love cartoons.

No, not just adult cartoons like Futurama, Family Guy and the Cleveland Show.

I like legit cartoon-cartoons.

Spongebob Squarepants and such. But my favorite cartoons of all time are probably: Scooby-Doo (old school Scooby-Doo, peeps), Doug and The Powerpuff Girls.

Can I get a witness? *holding up hand to get a high five*

Ok, maybe not, but I promise there’s a business/marketing message in this somewhere.

One thing I love about The Powerpuff Girls, specifically, is the character Mojo Jojo.

He has swagger in his quest for world domination. He doesn’t apologize. He is relentless. He has a one-track mind. He is always thinking up a new scheme to take over the city of Townsville and the world.

And therein lies our lesson for today, peeps.

Five keys to dominating your niche with super villain focus.

1. Plan A. Plan A. Plan A. All day. You gotta have a one-track mind about your business. I think Will Smith said it best: “There’s no reason to have a Plan B, because it distracts from Plan A.” Focus, focus, focus. I’m not saying you can’t have a day job, etc. I know you gotta get the cream. Dolla’ dolla’ bills y’all and all. But when it’s business time, it’s BUSINESS TIME.

2. Have a little Mojo Jojo swagger. Or [your name here] swagger. People want to see personality in your business. There’s only one you.

3. Always have the next project in mind. Create a calendar, a business plan or something that helps you constantly work towards a goal a project or an initiative in your business. Always improve. Always innovate.

4. Don’t get discouraged. Hard knocks will come. Setbacks abound. What will you do when they come knocking at your door? As Tiphani Montgomery says, you gotta get up and go harder. You will ROCK this world and I want to see it happen.

5. Don’t hide your light under a bushel. Is my Southern showing right now? Wave your business flag high and proud. So many of us, myself included, start a business or have a business for years and purposefully hide what we do from others for one reason or another. Uh uh. No more.  If you got it, flaunt it and don’t apologize for it.

Go forth and do super good with your super villain skills.
