I’m guest blogging today for an organization I hold dear to my heart: the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce.

I’m discussing how local businesses can optimize their Facebook brand pages and sharing a few stats on Facebook users in the Durham-area.

It’s really amazing how many local people are using Facebook regularly – nearly half the total population of North Carolina – when I remember when it came to the campus of UNC in 2004.

Full disclosure: I was quite skeptical of the longevity of the company when it was introduced back then, but I’m so glad I was wrong. *grin*

Head on over to the Chamber blog to see my post.

Even if you’re not in North Carolina, I outline a few tips to get you ready for the new Facebook timeline update happening next week!

Have an awesome day!

PS- If you’re in the area, I’m teaching a class on social media for local businesses on March 28. Check out the details on the Chamber website.
